Zack Paulus

Born and raised in Point Pleasant, NJ and classically trained piano player starting at age 6, I’ve always pursued piano alongside my passion for teaching and playing trumpet. I performed piano recitals growing up, through college, and gigged with a few bands both during and after my degree. I received my music education degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and shortly after moved to Montana to teach HS band.

I’ve spent a majority of my time pursuing the trumpet as a solo instrument, in orchestras, wind ensembles, chamber groups, jazz big bands, jazz combos, as well as gigging & recording a documentary with the band “The Media.” After I got my first teaching job in Havre in 2017, I spent time getting to know the music community through tribute bands and the rock lotto. I eventually joined the band “Steeds” and gigged around Havre and at the University of Montana Northern branch.

I currently teach 5-12th grade band, jazz band, percussion ensemble, guitar courses, and pep band at Stevensville in the beautiful Bitterroot valley where I also co-direct the community band in the summers and teach private lessons. I accompany my students on piano at state competitions & festivals and take other various gigs that call for classical piano.
