Marlin Grundy - Bass Guitar

Marlin first heard Deep Purple when he was a teenager while at a friend’s house. Once he heard their music, he had to know everything about them. So every time they would come out with anything new, Marlin couldn’t wait to get the album home and read all the liner notes about the band.

Marlin learned how to play the guitar at an early age and he would try to play their songs. In 1980, Marlin switched over to bass guitar and he was fortunate enough to play some of their songs with other bands. Now, Marlin has the opportunity to play these songs with talented musicians & celebrate a night of Deep Purple, People won’t soon forget!

As for more of Marlin’s bass guitar playing history, he played with a band called Texas Allies in Great Falls, MT, for 7 years.

Marlin also played in a band called Astrda that played on a cruise ship for 4 months and every week Marlin went from Spain, France, Italy to Malta.

Marlin also played with Penny Gilley where he toured in Texas and Las Vegas, as well as entertained the troops in Seoul Korea. Marlin later played with Justin Haigh, a well-known Texas artist, under the label Apache Records .
